President Joe Biden called upon the nation’s entertainment-industry executives Thursday to do their part to help beat back the raging COVID-19 pandemic by adopting admission requirements that could cut into their bottom line and spark partisan pushback.

“To those of you running large entertainment venues, from sports arenas to concert venues to movie theaters, please require folks to get vaccinated or show a negative test as a condition of entry,” Biden urged in a speech from the White House, part of a broad set of vaccine and testing protocols that could impact up to 100 million Americans.

President Joe Biden on Friday fired Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul after he refused a request to resign, a White House official told NBC News.

Saul, who was appointed to lead the agency by President Donald Trump, was notified that his employment was terminated immediately, according to the official.

Israeli rescue team briefs ambassador to the US on Surfside situation

Israeli Ambassador Gilad Erdan and the IDF search and rescue team received a warm welcome from Florida residents Thursday for their efforts helping local and federal crews race to try and find additional survivors of the Champlain Towers South collapse in Surfside, his chief of staff told Fox News.

Israel’s National Rescue Unit arrived in Miami Sunday morning. The ambassador flew down on Thursday and said he was briefed by the commando unit.
